A 3-year-old boy was killed and accidentally killed in the Saint-Louis area, bringing to 22 the total number of children killed in gun-related incidents in the metropolitan area of St. Louis since the beginning of the year, according to a tally of The Associated Press.

The incident occurred in the boy. He was then taken to hospital by his mother. On the way, the mother asked for help from the police.
County police said they had quickly started administering medical assistance to the boy and then transferred him to one of their vehicles before quickly driving him to a local hospital. While one of the police was driving, the department said the other police officer had attempted to administer rescue treatments to the child. The child was declared dead at the hospital.
The toddler was not the only child to be shot on Thursday in the metropolitan area of St. Louis. According to the authorities, 13-year-old Clifford Swan III was killed on Thursday night. Police arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of murder but did not reveal the suspect's name.
