BOSTON (CBS) – According to new figures from the Massachusetts Department of Health, there are 4,450 cases of COVID and 79 deaths among the state’s fully vaccinated population.
As of July 10, only 0.1% of 4,195,844 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts had tested positive for the virus after receiving the vaccine.
The number of people vaccinated includes those who received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or the Johnson & Johnson single injection vaccine.
Among the 4,450 cases, there were 4,124 people who did not require hospitalization. There were also 247 people who were hospitalized but did not die.
“All available data continues to support that the 3 vaccines used in the United States are highly protective against serious illness and death from all known variants of COVID-19,” the Department of Public Health said. “Unvaccinated people should continue to wear masks, especially indoors. And people who feel sick should get tested for COVID-19. “
