SPENCERVILLE – Ray Settlemire celebrated his 90th birthday with an open house hosted by his children at Agape Fellowship in Spencerville with his family and friends.
Settlemire was born on September 2, 1931 in Lima to Harold and Doris Settlemire. On June 10, 1961, he married Rose Settlemire, who died on January 5, 2020.
He has seven children, Joyce (Chad) Grear, of Spencerville; Linda (Gary) Dailey, of Wapakoneta; David (Wanda) Settlemire, of Celina; Chris Monroe, of Troy; Brian (Beth Bowersock) Settlemire, of Spencerville; Richard (Leo) Settlemire, of Chicago and Michael (Grace Gallimore) Settlemire, of Spencerville. He has 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Settlemire retired after 54 and a half years with Trim Trends in Spencerville as a tool and die maker. He and his wife have owned and operated R&R Engine Service for over 20 years. He was also a part-time farmer. Ray enjoyed riding a motorcycle almost every day to get to work and he, along with his wife, traveled all over the United States on their Honda Goldwing. Ray enjoys spending time with his family, friends, church family and especially his great-grandchildren.
