Protesters at Zwelihle, Hermanus stole a policeman from his service pistol while Western Cape Premier Helen Zille attempted to address the community on Friday.
The community members did not want to listen to Zille. Members of the Town Council of Cape Town were present

Policeman Sicelo Gxamesi confirmed the incident.
"We managed to get the gun from the people who took it and we discuss how to send it back safely," Gxamesi said. [1 9659002] Violence erupted in the region when community leader Gcobani Ndzongana was arrested on Tuesday, apparently for incitement.
"We do not want to talk to anyone until our leader has been released.If he is not released next week on Thursday, the closure will continue," Gxamesi said.
"People have lost their jobs because of the closure.There are small children and elderly people who are stuck in their homes and [who] are degbaded."
He added that live bullets were used to shoot protesters.
