JOHANNESBURG- The 702 Walk the Talk is a good excuse to not only walk freely in the streets of Johannesburg, but also to meet up with friends.
There is no running to exhaust all your energy. storm and get to know people along the way. The march went from a small initiative to one of the largest walks in the country, where more than 50,000 people gather to do some exercise and visit the city.
Green Emmarentia, the concrete roads of Empire Road, through the trails of Wits University and on the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge. Walking in the CBD is not something that people do regularly, so when they are in large groups, they have the opportunity to see it for what it is.
For 15 km walkers, the route also follows the scenic Braamfontein routes. Back to Emmarentia before returning to the Marks Park, where the walk started, to catch up even more with friends, families and colleagues.
A 15-kilometer stretch may seem like a lot, but in fact even a child can cover the weather when he's walking at the same speed as his parents. This year, just over 17,000 people took the 15 km option. From 7am, walkers can walk in the morning with a breeze to really wake them up. But as the progress progresses, body heat comes into play and it quickly becomes a real exercise and a good count on the loss of calories. The sun finally comes out just in time to enjoy the last half of the walk.
With several points of water and energy along the way, music through the speakers and cheerleaders all the way, this walk is an absolute pleasure.
