JOHANNESBURG – The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (Casac) pressure group has urged Associate Chief Justice Raymond Zondo to reveal his reasons for requesting an extension of two years
Zondo, who is the chairman of the commission, announced Tuesday that he had obtained an interim order from the court to extend the time.
The interested parties, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Protecteur du citoyen and Casac, will have the opportunity to oppose the application in October
Casac's executive secretary, Lawson Naidoo, wonders if Zondo has provided enough reasons why such an extension is necessary

Naidoo cited the Marikana Inquiry Commission as an example of a process that dragged on for years
