Four men were arrested, appeared in court, and were released as a result of an alleged race attack in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, which resulted in one death last week.

In the CCTV footage obtained by the Middelburg Observer, the victim and a friend appear to be attacked by a group of men on Cowen Ntuli Road.

The badailants are repeatedly seen kicking and hitting the victim, who was thrown onto the sidewalk.

Security vehicles and police arrive at the scene later.

Friend of the victim was quoted by TimesLive saying that the group of men blocked the road, and when they were asked to move, they attacked them. The group also called men the k-word.

The regional ANC was scheduled to march in the area on Monday during the incident.
