Cape Town – The center of Kenilworth in Cape Town was evacuated just after lunchtime Saturday, apparently due to a bomb threat. The center, located near the Kenilworth Racecourse, is one of the busiest shopping centers in the city.

The management of the center could not be contacted for comment, but a number of people indicated on social networks that the center's evacuation policy was ineffective and led to chaotic scenes when people dumped the complex.

Stores have just started to close. One of them finally told us that the center was evacuated. An officer from outside told me that it was a bomb threat.
