Medical students returning from Cuba for the last year

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi and Vice President David Mabuza welcomed about 260 fifth-year medical students upon returning from training in Cuba as part of Nelson Mandela's medical collaboration program Fidel Castro (NMFC).

Medical students returned from Cuba for their sixth-grade studies and reintegration into the South African health system.

Diplomatic relations between Cuba and South Africa since 1994 culminated in the Medical Collaborative Program in 1996. Promoting Primary Health Care

While the National Department of Health wanted to introduce the primary health care system. National Health Insurance, Motsoaledi said the students would be "the first soldiers" to help bring it to fruition

. : "We want to make a new law in South Africa, National Health Insurance.Let me tell you where it connects you."

Student training is one of the national strategies developed by the Ministry of Health to strengthen the public health sector.

Students will be reinstated to complete their sixth year at various participating universities.

The graduation ceremony for 2018 will take place at the University of Stellenbosch on July 17th. The ministers of health of South Africa and Cuba, their deputies and other dignitaries will attend.
