Durban – A 27-year-old woman claims to have been almost overthrown by a pizza delivery man as a result of a dispute over a cold pizza.
Prem Balram, director of the SA reaction unit, said that they were called to the business premises at Umdloti Beach Road near Southridge on Wednesday just after lunch, after that a woman complained that she had been strangled by a pizza delivery man.
According to Balram, the victim explained that she had ordered a pizza at a popular restaurant. not only was his food delivered an hour late, but it was also cold.
"She then quarreled with the driver about the delay and the cold pizza policy of the company
bicycle. The woman added that she had grabbed the bike to avoid getting hurt and that the driver had strangled her with both hands before escaping.
"The woman was slightly injured and sought advice to open a criminal case.
The pizza delivery man was not questioned because he had left the scene.
KZN police stated that no case had been opened.
