Seventeen children were injured after a minibus taxi took off and rolled on Msunduzi's main road, Pietermaritzburg Friday afternoon
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said the paramedics were called to the scene after 4:00 pm "On arrival, paramedics found a taxi at the bottom of a long embankment.The community alerted ER24 that the children had been transferred to a clinic 200 meters away," Meiring said.
At the clinic, paramedics discovered that 18 children were in the vehicle at the time of the incident, and paramedics rated children aged 14 to 16 and found that 10 had minor to moderate injuries. No serious injuries or deaths were discovered.
Paramedics treated the patients and then transported them to nearby provincial hospitals for further care. local authorities were on hand to continue investigations.
