With the snow season just around the corner, the Turner Mountain Ski Area is hosting its annual ski swap this weekend.
The sale, which includes offers on ski and snowboard clothing and equipment, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 8 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 9. Unlike in previous years, the organizers will hold the event. at the Plummer Gym at 263 Indian Head Road.
“We have a huge inventory of new and used equipment,” said Bruce Zwang, president of the Kootenai Winter Sports Ski Education Foundation.
In addition to gear, skiers can pick up season passes and five-day preseason sale vouchers at the swap.
Sellers must register all items they wish to sell from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the gym on October 8. Sellers can pick up any clothing or equipment that cannot be found from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The organizers charge 15% of the price of any item sold as a handling fee.
At the same time as the exchange, the ski area is looking for volunteer patrollers. Interested snow sports enthusiasts should attend the group’s fall reunion at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Libby Ambulance Barn.
Turner Mountain Ski Patrol is also soliciting t-shirt designs for their annual fundraiser. Designers should submit their plans by 8 p.m. on October 12, via email to [email protected]. Participants can also submit their designs to the Neumann Foot and Ankle Clinic, 604 California Ave. or in the care of Halley Parker at Libby Elementary School.
Ski Patrol members will vote on designs at the October 13 meeting.
