Ever wondered what the cheeky sea creatures get up to in the aquarium while the rest of us sleep?

For the first time ever, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is opening its doors for 24 hours on the night of Tuesday 27th November and into the morning of Wednesday 28th November.

The immersive experience promises to be one to remember as visitors of Sydney’s Sea Life Aquarium will get a glimpse into what goes on after hours, offering guests the rare opportunity to quite literally explore day and night on the Reef.

Marine biologists will provide special, guided tours explaining the behaviours of the 500 sea creatures in the exhibit — including Myrtle the much loved green sea turtle, reef sharks, sawfish, jellyfish and Bow the mbadive 126kg Queensland grouper.

“After seven months of construction, this exciting new Day and Night on the Reef exhibit will provide our guests with an insight into the beauty of the reef from dusk until dawn. We can’t wait to welcome the public in for a very special night experience,” said the Aquarium’s curator, Chris Brown.

“For the first time ever, we’re offering guests the chance to see exactly what the aquarium looks like all through the day and the night. This includes an after dark guided tour through popular exhibits such as Dugong Island and Shark Alley,” he said.

This first-time night experience is the perfect chance for animal lovers, night owls or anyone who is keen to explore the aquarium from a different perspective to see what really happens underwater at night.

Midnight snacks and a goodie bag for everyone is included in your special sea life experience so grab a friend and start planning.

Tickets are fairly cheap at $24 but are selling out fast. Due to popular demand, two new timeslots have been added to the special event. Get your tickets here.
