COVID Vaccine: Can You Still Be Contagious?

So many people flooded Beaumont Health’s myBeaumontChart electronic system on Friday morning, spokesperson Bob Ortlieb told The Free Press.

Beaumont and several other hospitals in southeast Michigan announced Thursday evening that they would vaccinate their patients aged 65 and over, with appointments for vaccinations starting Monday.

Those who wish to schedule a vaccine in Beaumont should take the following steps:
- Create a myBeaumontChart account or log into your existing account
- Confirm that your current email address is listed on your account.
- Then look for a message in your personal email at [email protected]. It will happen as soon as you are eligible to schedule your vaccination.
- When you receive the email, open the message and click on the link to schedule your vaccination.
If you don’t have an active myBeaumontChart personal account, the healthcare system urges people to create a free personal account at myBeaumontChart.com.
With such a huge demand for vaccines and limited resources, Dr Jeffrey S Fischgrund, spine surgeon and head of clinical services at the eight hospitals at Beaumont Health, said Beaumont couldn’t manage a phone line.
“We can’t set up a hotline for people to call with questions,” Fischgrund said. “The best we can do now is to use electronic medical records. And as we move forward, we’ll have to figure out how to get to those people who just aren’t technologically advanced enough to make it work.
He asked people to try to be patient and understand that this process will take time.
“The vaccine is not the end of the pandemic,” Fischgrund said. “We still have to wear masks, we still have social distance.
“If you are offered the vaccine, please take the vaccines, and I want to be frank with people when they question it, I tell them you have two options: you can either get the vaccine or you can get the COVID. . And that is really what it is. “
