Bellator 215: "Mitrione vs. Kharitonov is airing tonight (Friday, February 15, 2019) at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The big boys take center stage in the main event. Matt Mitrione (13-6) faces the Russian legend Sergei Kharitonov (29-7, 1 NC).

BELLATOR 215 PLAY-BY-PLAY:
Matt Mitrione against Sergei Kharitonov
As Mike Goldberg says, "Here we GO. "Kharitonov is the first in blue gloves and black boxers for our main event. His input music was a cover of "Eye of the Tiger," while Mitrione's input music is "Simple Man." He wears red gloves and black trunks. Kharitonov fights in Moscow, Russia and Mitrione in West Lafayette, Indiana. Our responsible referee is Leon Roberts. Both men touch gloves during the final instructions.
Round 1: Mitrione gets a left kick to the groin in the first 15 seconds and Roberts calls the hour. Kharitonov is lying on the floor and writhing in pain. They give him the time and he can not get up. As Leon Roberts said the fault was accidental, it will not be considered a defeat.
Final result: the main event is considered a non-competition at 0h15 from R1.
Logan Storley against Ion Pascu
Storley is unbeaten at 9-0 with red gloves and black trunks. Pascu faces him at 18-9 and looks for his first win in Bellator with blue gloves and black trunks. Pascu is fighting in Dublin, Ireland. Storley fights in Webster, South Dakota. Our responsible referee is Yves Lavigne.
Round 1: Neither Storley nor Pascu give an inch for the first 40 seconds. Storley finally shoots for a ground shot at 45 seconds, but Pascu blocks him and has a front-end block. Storley escapes him and continues to dig for one leg withdrawal. Pascu throws his left hand on his head as he sits against the fence. Storley's corner advises him to "pull out of the cage", but it's not like he's not trying. Storley takes his back standing and finally gets a right crotch removal up to the half-guard. The right elbow crushes Pascu's face. Several others follow. Storley tries to raise Pascu's head so he can have a better reach for his right hand and elbow. Solid 10-9 round for "Storm".
Turn 2: Storley makes the withdrawal after 18 seconds. It's a half-guard who lets his head straight with his elbows every time his arm is free. It seems inevitable that Pascu breaks under this pressure and we have to wait for it to happen. Pascu tries to get by at 2:02 without success. Storley takes the back momentarily while he was looking to go on the attack but eventually come back to half-goalkeeper. Storley grinds for the rest. 10-9 Storley.
Round 3: Storley has takedown at 44 and 57 seconds. Pascu tries to turn the second into kimura but Storley tightens with his leg to stay out of danger. Storley takes his back while Pascu tries to improve his position and puts all his weight on his back. Pascu still goes for the kimura but Storley ends up in two. Storley dominates from there to the bell for another 10-9.
Final result: Logan Storley wins by unanimous decision 30-27 and 30-26 X2.
Eduardo Dantas against. Toby Misech
Former Bellator champion Dantas competes in the 20-6 fight with gray trunks and red gloves, while his less experienced opponent, Misech, arrives in 12-6 with black / green military trunks and blue gloves. Dantas has the advantage of reaching 72.5 "to 68". Misech fights from Hilo, Hawaii. Dantas is fighting in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Our referee is Kevin MacDonald.
Turn 1: The gloves slam as Misech rushes to the center, moving away from the right. Dantas kicks his right leg. Misech arrives and lands his left hand. He kicks and steps back to another Dantas right. Dantas connects with her again. Misech moves away to avoid a hitch and Dantas charges forward and puts him against the cage. The action stops there. MacDonald calls for improvement. Dantas ends up putting Misech on the ground and tries to open with the right hand. Dantas would like to pass but his back is very close to the fence. He must dismiss the two men just to have room to move. He's half-guarded with 90 seconds and he's aiming for kimura. Dantas lets him go and throws the left to the head. 10-9 Dantas.
Round 2: Dantas is not afraid to use this right leg repaired surgically to kick. He attacks the body and leg with impunity to open R2. Misech tries to introduce himself and tag it in vain. Another blow for Dantas. Misech with a kick in the leg. The crowd begins to grow impatient with Misech's inability to shoot and Dantas's fight at close range. Dantas tries a shot on goal and even without being climbed on the back of Misech with a hanging. The crowd is anxious again because Dantas is working cautiously to improve his position and possibly get a bid. Dantas tries and tries to put the arm under the chin but Misech survives. 10-9 Dantas.
Round 3: Misech advances throwing his left hand like a man who knows he has already lost two rounds. Dantas kicks and Misech immediately counteracts with his hands. The crowd is still booing at 1:37. Dantas's body kick at 2:15. Kick for Dantas. Misech with a wave and Dantas avoids it easily. Misech and Dantas are not thrilled by this crowd with 90 seconds remaining. Dantas seems confident that he has a good head start and Misech seems unable to change the equation or reluctant to go bankrupt, even if that means he risks being knocked out. Another kick for Dantas. Dantas pulls for a late leg and puts Misech against the fence at the bell. 10-9 Dantas.
Final result: Eduardo Dantas wins a unanimous decision of 29-28 and 30-27 X2.
Michael Kimbel vs. Jonathan Douma
Kimbel is unbeaten at 2-0 with the black trunk and red gloves. His opponent, Duma, is 3-1 and carries the black trunk and blue gloves. Kimbel is 2 "over 5'9" and has a range of 74 "against 66.5" for Duma. Duma fights out of Narragansett, Rhode Island. Kimbel fights against Waterbury, Connecticut. Our referee is Yves Lavigne.
Round 1: The gloves kick is followed by a Kimbel free-kick that is simply missing. This fight is already longer than the last one. Duma is re-established to stay out of Kimbel's reach. Kimbel kicks as he tries to cut an angle on Duma. Kimbel's heel kick is ducked as Douma leans over and heads for the fence, and Kimbel reverses and takes Douma to the ground. The two men get up at 2:10 before Kimbel throws him to the side control and starts to take off. Duma deeply surrounds the triangle of the leg around his neck, Kimbel tries to escape, but it does not work and he is forced to type!
Final result: Jonathan Douma wins by submission (star of the triangle) 2:51 of the first round.
Austin Vanderford vs. Cody Jones
"Mr. VanZant" Vanderford is unbeaten at 6-0 in the red gloves with a black trunk.Jones is 6-2 in blue gloves with bright red slips and a winning streak in four fights to come in this fight. working with Chael Sonnen and Jones training with John Salter, Jones is taller from 6'2 "to 5'10" but Vanderford has a two-inch advantage at 76 "Jones is fighting in Myrtle Beach, in South Carolina, while Vanderford is fighting in Portland, Oregon, our referee is Todd Anderson.
Turn 1: Jones throws an early header that is checked. Vanderford takes her to the ground at 37 seconds. In the ensuing race, Vanderford momentarily has his back, but Jones ends up looking for a Peruvian tie and, in doing so, he lets Vanderford return to the top. Jones tries to sit against the fence and Vanderford pushes him away. Vanderford can finally throw good right hands. Vanderford moves to the side control and takes the back with a hook, then makes a transition by looking for an arm triangle. Jones scores less than 15 seconds!
Final result: Austin Vanderford improves his score to 7-0 via submission (arm triangle) 4:49 R1.
Pat McCrohan versus Jason Markland
Markland makes his professional debut in blue gloves, fighting in New York, NY. McCrohan is in the red gloves, a 3-2 record, to fight at Berkley, Mass. Our referee is Bryan Miner.
Round 1: A polished glove valve allows us to start before McCrohan becomes difficult for one leg and finally gets it. He moves to the most complete position in 35 seconds while Markland does his best to cover himself. McCrohan grabs his right arm with a knee and releases so much punishment that Miner is forced to intervene and save Markland. Quick victory for McCrohan!
Final result: Pat McCrohan by technical knockout at 1:11 in the first round.
Pete Rogers against. Jason Rine
Red gloves and black leggings for 3-4 Rogers. Blue gloves for 1-4 Rine with fluo yellow on her trunk. Rogers is half an extra foot at 6'0 "and 9" over at 73 ". Rogers is fighting in Norwich, Connecticut. Rine fights from Fredericktown, Ohio. Our responsible referee is Leon Roberts.
Round 1: Rogers quickly pushes Rine into the cage after the opening bell and they turn to position themselves. Taken at lateral control at 35 seconds. Rogers is positioned for a crank, but Rine is momentarily able to block it. If Rogers can improve his position, Rine is made for. Two minutes are up. Rogers drops and then goes to a throttle of arce. In fact, he chooses Rine to apply more weight and Rine starts to stomp. Rogers lets that go too. Rogers gets another withdrawal with one minute and throws a heavy right hand that Rine does not defend. Rogers comes up behind and Roberts looks attentively and warns Rine to retaliate. 10-8 Rogers.
Round 2: Rogers goes out and Rine looks for a stub to save himself. Rogers unloads with his right elbows and hammers and it is happily finished.
Final result: Pete Rogers wins by technical knockout at 0:50 in the second round.
Tabatha Watkins against Lindsey VanZandt
Red Gloves, 3-0, Watkins – wrestling in Brighton, MI. Blue Gloves, 4-1, VanZandt – Fights Against Wappinger Falls, NY. Our referee in charge of this fight is Bryan Miner.
Round 1: No glove typing to start. Watkins tries to put the pressure on and VanZandt pushes her back. Watkins throws a whim that is checked. Kick and a right hand for Watkins. Body kick for VanZandt. Right hook for Watkins. Left kick goes still high for Watkins. The kick follows. VanZandt pushes her into the cage to throw her knees to the body and comes over with an elbow. VanZandt lowers the levels for a withdrawal after two minutes and secures it. Watkins keeps her on guard and unable to stand. VanZandt continues to try to turn to pass but Watkins has his legs crossed behind VanZandt's back. When VanZandt releases herself briefly, she crushes an elbow at home. VanZandt takes her back and fetches an armband VERY late – the bell saves Watkins. 10-9 VanZandt.
Turn 2: VanZandt with a left shot and Watkins with kicks to open the round. VanZandt gets a takedown after 45 seconds and goes to side control at 1:03. Watkins gets back on his feet but VanZandt rejects her again at 1:42 and stands up with his right hand and elbows. Watkins finally closes the guard at 2:01 but a left elbow still passes. Watkins looks for an armband, but VanZandt gets back on his feet and prepares Watkins before she can return to hers before hitting her with authority. Watkins then stands up with a hard left hand and collapses quickly when Bryan Miner intervenes to save her. VanZandt was throwing a right hook that was missing from the call since Watkins was already collapsing to the ground.
Final result: Lindsey VanZandt wins by technical knockout at 3:25 in the second round.
Amber Leibrock against. Amanda Bell
Leibrock, 3-2, red gloves and white top, fighter out of Hayward, California. Bell, age 5-5, wearing blue gloves and high, fighting in Hubbard, Oregon. Our responsible referee is Yves Lavigne.
Round 1: Double high-five of the two fighters. The tall, skinny Leibrock circles and looks for angles. Amanda Bell strikes so hard that she falls to the ground. Bell gets up clean and manages to give a good kick to the head of Leibrock. Leibrock flips her over the fence to fall on her knees and breaks at 1:28. Now, Bell advances and forces Leibrock to backtrack. Bell fires her and pushes her back into the fence at 2:20, and Leibrock turns her around so that her knees touch her body. They separate at 3:01. Bell continues to lower her and puts her against the cage at 3:30 am to kick her legs, rights and cuts. Leibrock covers himself, falls at 3:50, and Lavigne stops him. Leibrock then looks in her eyes as if she were back in California – certainly not at all. Medical staff travel to Leibrock for several minutes before Bell's victory is official.
Final result: Amanda Bell by KO in the first round at 3:52.
Billy Goff vs. Ryan Hardy
Blue gloves and black leggings for Hardy who makes his professional debut at Gordon Heights, NY. Gloves and trunks red with pink border for Goff, 1-0 on Connecticut. Our referee is Todd Anderson.
Round 1: Hardy lands early with a left-handed chin and a rotating elbow. Goff ties him up. Hardy breaks a melee in 48 seconds. Goff with a kick. HARDY LEVELS GOFF WITH A RIGHT HAND and pours on the floor and the book. Goff tries to cling to Hardy's arms to regain his spirit and survive. It works. Hardy tries to pass the guard and throws a big right hand before Goff attaches him again. Hardy recoils at 2:56. Hardy tries to control the legs and passes but must also avoid the upkicks. Hardy kicks as the crowd rebels. Goff gets up at 4:15 pm and Hardy gets another blow. Goff and Hardy compete for the last 10 seconds. 10-9 Hardy.
Round 2: Hardy is looking for the right home run and hits with the left. Goff seems determined to lower it and place a good counter on the left. Head shot lands for Goff and he moves forward with a wave. Hardy steps back. Hardy's arms fall low. Goff uses kicks to shut the stove. Blood flows on the left side of Hardy's face. Another blow from Goff. Hardy opts for a leg but can not get it. He connects to the double and blocks Goff against the fence with a little time. 10-9 Goff.
Round 3: Goff continues to press and Hardy pulls for a takedown only to eat a knee in response. Goff pushes him into the cage and gets a takedown at 1:50. Hardy is able to push Goff with his legs and get up at 2:29. Goff with a combo. Goff attacks the body and head with his hands and kicks. There are 90 seconds left. Even when Hardy throws nothing but a left shot, he rolls. The right kick and the left hook both find their heads. Hardy is in survival mode. 10-9 Goff.
Final result: Billy Goff wins through a unanimous decision of 29-28 X3.
Steve Mowry vs Darion Abbey
Mowry has brown trunks with red gloves and a 5-0 record in action in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Abbey makes his professional debut in black chests and blue gloves at Cedar Rapids, in Iowa. Our responsible referee is Yves, Lavigne.
Round 1: The glove tap starts before Mowry is decked out with a flawless straight that lets him down. Mowry recovers and gets a takedown but Abbey gets up and throws a superman punch, knee and more rights. Abbey shoots him and Mowry is almost a standing zombie. Kick by Abbey. Mowry drops it down again and manages to control the kimura aside for an unstoppable return.
Final result: Steve Mowry wins by submission (kimura) at 1:27 in the first round.
Matt Probin against Ali Zebian
Blue gloves, black leggings, 1-0 for Zebian in Westfield, Massachusetts. Gloves and red trunks for Probin, 3-0, fighter in Portland, Maine. Our referee is Kevin MacDonald.
Turn 1: The glove tap starts before Probin kicks. Zebian shoots for a takedown and gets it in 19 seconds. Probin crawls back to the cage and rises to 46 seconds, disengaging himself with an elbow but appearing in response. Probin's head shot is checked. Zebian with a left jab. Probin with a kick to the body. Passed the right hand and missed for Probin. Body and leg kick connect. Zebian's takedown is drunk. 2:30 gone. Probin continues to press and connect with the kicks. Zebian tries to respond with internal kicks, then gets another withdrawal at 3:12. He tries to get a quote out while Probin is trying to scan. Zebian tries to convince the referee that Probin is going out. Probin gives the referee a helping hand and tries to crush Zebian with some big straight elbows and heavy body shots. 10-9 Probin.
Round 2: Zebian gets a withdrawal after 15 seconds and quickly switches to side control. Probin rises to 36 seconds and unloads with a kick to the body. Zebian's next takedown attempt is drunk, but the next one connects at 1:08. Zebian is again under lateral control but the wall of Probin advances at 1:40. They separate at 2:11. The two men are kicking each other. Zebian is fighting for one leg, but Probin jumps to the fence and fights. He is free at 3:31. Jump the knee and the head of Probin. Probin falls on a kick and gets up. Another attempt at lateral control for Zebian at 4:17. If he can do nothing to Probin, how effective are they? Finally, he gets up to throw his right hands to finish. 10-9 round for Zebian.
Round 3: Glove tap. Zebian clinches the kickoff of the round to go. Question mark kick of Probin in return. Zebian drops the levels once, while Probin widens his posture against the cage. Probin disengages at 1:17 to throw his hands and drops Zebian with a big left. Probin takes the upper hand in lateral control. Zebian gets up at 2:09. Zebian opts for a single but does not have one. Probin throws a knee and Zebian tries to get a withdrawal while he is unbalanced. He drops the levels with less than 90 seconds but Probin gives him a nudge in the head and looks at the referee in the hope that he will manage to break the deadlock. Zebian continues digging and digging on his legs. Probin returns it. Zebian immediately opts for one leg, but does not. I feel a split decision coming. I would go with Probin.
Final result: The judges scored 29-28 Zebian, 29-28 Probin, 29-28 Probin by SD.
Zarrukh Adashev against Ronie Arana
Red gloves and white trunks for 1-1 Adashev fighting in Brooklyn, NY. Blue gloves and black trunks for 0-2 Arana fighting in New York, NY. Our responsible referee is Kevin MacDonald.
Round 1: Glove type to start. Adashev hunt with bare hands but Arana tries to get up to avoid it. A forehand puts Arana on his buttocks and he gets up at 1:01. Arana steps back and challenges her to move forward. Adashev throws Arana at 1:40, gets up, then goes down to the side control. Arana is warned not to tie her toes to the fence. Adashev takes his time and progresses slowly, pushing his right knee into Arana's body. Adashev lets Arana get up at 3:20 pm Adashev advances with a big kick to the body and fast hands. He throws Arana down again at 4:01 am and takes the mount to bomb. Arana desperately tries to hang on and not let him stand up. He survives the round. 10-8 Adashev.
Round 2: They tap again gloves to start the round. Adashev quickly rotates but does not connect. Arana tries a whim and falls on her buttocks. Adashev with a kick and a hard body shot. Right hook. Adashev with a kick combo and a left. Arana picks up and pushes Adashev to the fence. Adashev kneels in the groin and we get a time out. John McCarthy does not think he has really landed. Adashev still receives a verbal warning. Adashev places three hooks on the right and Arana falls briefly on the floor, then picks up on the fence. Adashev throws him to the ground and stands up. He does it again at 2:48. He leaves Arana back at 3:06 and lands an uppercut. Adashev strikes again after a burst through the cage. 10-9 Adashev.
Turn 3: The two men swing the haymakers for the first 15 seconds until Adashev throws Arana to the ground once again. Adashev's judo is so good in this fight that John McCarthy compares him to Ronda Rousey. Knees up to the ribs and left elbows to the chin. Arana tries to get by and finally gets up at 1:22. Right hook for Adashev. Superman punch. Arana gets a takedown at 1:56. Adashev chooses an armband but is not able to lock it. Adashev kneels at 3:11. Arana tries to take the back, but eventually controls laterally and then goes on full mount at 3:48. Adashev will reverse and get up at 4:10. Adashev lands a left hand while they break. The two men turn away and Adashev takes a hard chin before the final bell. 10-9 Arana.
Final result: Zarrukh Adashev wins by unanimous decision 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27.
