Biden leans in to tell someone to get away socially, “ which I don’t do ”

President Biden leaned inches from someone’s face to urge them to practice social distancing as he promoted vaccine progress in the country on Tuesday afternoon.

The video shows the president showing off his face mask, leaning toward a seated person and encouraging them to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines on coronaviruses.

“Continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, and socially distance yourself – which I don’t do,” he jokes, eliciting a group of off-camera people laugh.

Biden delivered a speech on the nation’s immunization campaign from the state dining hall after visiting a clinic in Alexandria, Virginia.

He said more than 554,000 Americans had died from the virus and urged the public to continue following CDC health guidelines as the vaccine rollout accelerated.

“What we do now, we are going to determine how many people we will save or lose in April and May and June, before we get to July 4,” the president said.

He predicted that “the vast majority of Americans” will receive at least their first vaccine before the end of May.

“Better times are ahead,” he said. “As I said before, we can have a safe and secure Happy 4th of July with your family and friends in small groups in your backyard.”
