CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns had some great news Thursday amid all their COVID-19 conflicts.
They have activated Ronnie Harrison out of the injured / nominated reserve for return with his shoulder injury, meaning he will likely play against the Steelers on Sunday in their “ win-win ” game. He’s missed the last four games and the Browns missed him.
They can certainly use Harrison given the free security. Andrew Sendejo was kicked out after presumably testing positive for COVID-19, and Karl Joseph was placed on the reserve list as a high-risk close contact.
The Browns reopened their facilities at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon after a Javon Patterson training facility and coach tested positive for COVID-19. The coach will not be on the pitch for Sunday’s game as he has to isolate himself for at least 10 days. They performed an indoor practice at 4:30 p.m., which was closed to media due to COVID-19 protocols.
Browns right guard Wyatt Teller (sprained high ankle) also practiced Wednesday has a good chance of playing Sunday. Stefanski said he also hopes to recover Jedrick Wills Jr. from his illness, which cost him the 23-16 loss to the Jets on Sunday.
If all goes as hoped, BJ Goodson’s five high-risk contacts (positive for COVID-19) will be back on the pitch on Thursday and available for the game. They are Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, KhaDarel Hodge and Jacob Phillips.
Harrison Bryant and Karl Joseph, also close, could be back on Saturday.
Three Browns players were absent Wednesday: linebackers Tae Davis (ankle) and Sione Takitaki (ankle) and offensive linemen Nick Harris (knee).
