Nine new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Humboldt County today. A previously reported case was withdrawn as it was determined to originate from another jurisdiction. The total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus is now 4,711.

The vaccine continues to be readily available at public health clinics and most local pharmacies. Walk-in visits are welcome at all public health clinics, or register in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov. Check out the clinic’s schedule for the next seven days below.

The Pfizer vaccine is approved for children as young as 12 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is authorized for people 18 years of age and over.

To check availability of these vaccines, as well as Moderna, at local pharmacies, visit vaccines.gov or text zip code to 438829 to find a participating pharmacy nearby. Most pharmacies allow walk-in visits.

The State of California is continuing its Vax for the Win incentive program, offering “You Call the Shot” cards to residents who get vaccinated. These $ 50 in virtual cash or grocery cards are available while supplies last. See covid19.ca.gov/vax-for-the-win/ for more details on this state program.
