BUTTE COUNTY, California – Eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine extends to people 16 and older who live or work in Butte County, according to Butte County Public Health.
Residents 18 years of age and older are eligible for Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. BCPH is asking people to keep in mind that Johnson & Johnson vaccine allocations are limited at this time and may not be available.

Residents aged 16 and 17 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine and must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver and have proof of age at the time of the appointment. Currently, the Pfizer vaccine is only available for this age group at the Oroville Community Vaccination Clinic or the Chico Hospital Vaccination Clinic, according to the BCPH.
Public health officials said those using the state’s planning system, MyTurn, should check the age option “65-74” to begin the planning process. Then, when prompted to enter their date of birth, people should use their actual date of birth as it is used to verify eligibility upon arrival at the immunization clinic.
