Independiente del Valle, from Ecuador, qualified Wednesday for the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana, after a hard-fought victory over the Venezuelan Caracas 2-0 in the second leg of the elimination phase at the Atahualpa stadium in Quito.
The first leg, last week in the Venezuelan capital, culminated without equality.
Midfielder Alan Franco in the 61st minute and Colombian striker Christian Dájome in the 77th scored goals for the local table.
