Independiente del Valle, from Ecuador, qualified Wednesday for the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana, after a hard-fought victory over the Venezuelan Caracas 2-0 in the second leg of the elimination phase at the Atahualpa stadium in Quito.

The first leg, last week in the Venezuelan capital, culminated without equality.

Midfielder Alan Franco in the 61st minute and Colombian striker Christian Dájome in the 77th scored goals for the local table.

Caracas proposed a game with an orderly and precise game to defend themselves and speculate with the counter-attack, but the perseverance in the attack of the Ecuadorian team was worthy of breaking through the Venezuelan resistance.

The visiting team came out of their isolation after 25 minutes and in the 27th minute could open the scoring, but goalkeeper Jorge Pinos pushed back with difficulty the ball around the corner after a violent shot by defender Bernardo Añor.

The speed and domination of the ball by striker Angelo Preciado caused the first attack of danger while he was planning a precise center, but the shot from Dájome's head was pushed back by defender Eduardo Pereira, drowning thus a clear possibility of purpose.

The end of the first half surprised the local attack with intensity, and Caracas met his goal of preventing the goal.

The second part showed another Preciado detachment with goal options, although midfielder Efrén Mera was weak and the ball went into the goalkeeper's hands in the 53rd minute.

The impatient Ecuadorian fell in the 61st minute after a powerful shot from the edge of the area and goalkeeper, which was worth breaking the Venezuelan defensive lock.

The Ecuadorian team sealed the standings thanks to Dájome, who took advantage of a deadly counterattack after a Caracas corner. Anthony Landázuri showed up, ahead of midfielder John Sanchez, who was pbading right in front of the goalkeeper at the 77 minute mark.

In the 81, Carlos Espinoza had the possibility of the reduction and sent a violent finish that rejected the local goalkeeper savagely.

Independiente del Valle has eliminated in the current edition of the Copa Sudamericana, in addition to Caracas, the Union of Santa Fe Argentina and the Catholic University of Chile.

Now awaits the winner of the key between the Argentine Independence and the Ecuadorian Catholic University.
