The Office of the Ombudsman urged, through the intermediary of his official Twitter account, the Department of Justice to resolve the transfer of the former vice-president Jorge Glas, who is in prison for corruption, to receive medical care.

Jorge Glas has been on 38 days of hunger strike since his transfer from prison 4 to the Cotopaxi Social Rehabilitation Center (CRS), where he is serving a six-year prison sentence for the crime of illicit badociation related to the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.

The Ombudsman also requested that Glas be transferred to another CRS.

The ombudsman's office, "faced with the deteriorating health of @ JorgeGlas, urges @Justicia_Ec to solve the problem of his transfer so that he receives medical care, protects his integrity and ensures his preventive detention in another CRS ".
