Hawke will play the main villain of the series.

Isaac is leading the series starring one of Marvel’s cult characters and is aiming for a March production start in Budapest.

May Calamawy, who is perhaps best known for her work at Hulu’s Frame, is already on the roll call.

Moon Knight has had several incarnations over the decades since his debut in 1975, from being a former sailor turned mercenary with multiple alter egos to a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, until recently a dapper-clad consultant . . One aspect of the stories of the modern comic book era has been the struggle with the mental illness of several famous people.

It’s unclear who Hawke would play. Moon Knight’s Archnemesis is seen as a villain named Bushman, a fellow mercenary who turned on the hero when Egyptian gold entered the scene.

Mohamed Diab, the Egyptian pilot behind the Middle East drama Shock, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the team of independent genre filmmakers behind sci-fi horror films Infinity and Synchronous, run the show.

Hawke’s career began in the mid-1980s with a teenage sci-fi film Explorers but in his 35-plus-years, he’s shunned the comic book genre. He has, however, starred in genre works, helping to launch successful horror franchises. Sinister and The purge.

His far-reaching work saw him twice nominated for an Acting Oscar – for 2002 Training day and 2015 Childhood – and twice for writing – for 2005 Before sunrise and 2014 Before midnight.

He recently wrapped The Northman, a Viking revenge saga by Roberg Eggers which stars Anya-Taylor-Joy, and which comes out of strong notifications The good Lord bird, a historical drama that he created and performed.

Hawke is replaced by CAA and MGMT.
