The Federal Aviation Administration restricts aircraft within 1.1 nautical miles (approximately 1.25 radius) of the SpaceX launch site in Boca Chica from Monday to Wednesday to create a safe environment for the launch and recovery of rockets.
The notice was released Friday as SpaceX entered its second day of testing. The restricted space extends from the surface up to 1,000 feet.
Cameron County shut down part of State Highway 4 at Boca Chica Beach on Thursday and Friday so SpaceX could perform "tank tests" on its Starship Hopper prototype, Justice Cameron judge Eddie Trevino said Thursday.
The airspace restrictions are expected to come into effect from 8 am to 5 pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
