Florida Boy, 11, arrested for refusing to defend his pledge of allegiance

An 11-year-old boy in Florida has been arrested and faces charges after refusing to defend the Pledge of Allegiance. The boy was arrested for causing unrest and denied repeated instructions from school and law enforcement personnel, according to Polk County Public Schools. The sixth grade student from a suburb of Tampa reportedly told his teacher that the flag was "racist" and that the national anthem offended blacks. The substitute teacher would then have asked the boy why he was still living in the United States if he was "so bad here," to which he would have replied, "They brought me here." Back because I came here from Cuba and the day I felt that I was no longer welcome here, I would find another place to live. and the school administrator tried to calm the boy, then asked him to leave the class. The student allegedly made threats while escorted to the office. He was accused of disrupting a school activity and of resisting an officer without violence.
