Comanche County Electoral Council Secretary Amy Sims said on Wednesday that the Flower Mound School District had chosen to close the polling station for constituencies 160021, 160026, 160032 in Comanche County for the 9th special election. November.
State law allows a school district to close a precinct polling station for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district boundaries and if less than 100 registered voters reside in the part of the enclosure which is inside the district.
Voters registered in constituencies 160021, 160026, 160032 at addresses in the Flower Mound School District will receive a request for a postal ballot from the Comanche County Electoral Board. Voters must complete, sign and return the application form to the election office for a postal ballot to be sent to them. Voters can also request postal ballots online using the OK Voters Portal at https://okvoterportal.okelections.us/.
Requests for postal ballots must be received by the county electoral board no later than 5 p.m. on November 2.
Most postal ballots must be mailed to the county electoral board. However, “standard” ballots can be mailed or hand delivered. Hand-delivered ballots must be received no later than the end of the working day, the Monday before the election (November 8). Postal ballots must be received by the county electoral board no later than 7:00 p.m. on election night.
Voters can also vote in early voting at the Comanche County Election Committee, located in the Comanche County Courthouse southwest of 5th & C, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 4 and 5.
Any voter registered in constituencies 160021, 160026, and 160032 who believe they reside in the Flower Mound School District but have not yet received a request for a mail ballot should immediately contact the county electoral council office. The number is 353-1880.
