More than 30 Israeli, Belgian and Colombian teens were sick with nausea and vomiting after eating at the International Ultimate Frisbee Flower Tournament in the Loire River on Sunday.

Thirty-four foreign teenagers, who participated in an international tournament of ultimate Frisbee, were victims Sunday of a food poisoning in Feurs (Loire), said the prefecture Monday.

Eleven young hospitalized. Twenty Israelis, ten Belgians and four Colombians were nauseated and vomited after their lunch on Sunday noon, according to the prefecture, confirming information from the regional press. They were then taken care of by the rescue services who went to the scene of the competition. Eleven young people – six Israelis, four Belgians and one Colombian – were hospitalized for a medical check-up. All had joined their delegations Monday morning.

Food will be badyzed. "The Department of Population Protection (DDPP) has recovered food consumed locally and badyzes will be conducted in the laboratory to determine the chemical causes of this intoxication," said the prefecture. State services will also travel Monday to Saint-Chamond, at the caterer who was responsible for preparing meals during the competition. The Ultimate Frisbee World Championships, which were scheduled to take place until August 4 in Feurs, were canceled.
