KinshasaHealth – Additional teams of vaccinators against Ebola virus are being trained in Kinshasa and Butembo because of the large number of people to be vaccinated, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health released Friday in Kinshasa.
According to the source, more than a thousand students from different institutions of higher education and university in the city of Beni in North Kivu province invaded the city last Thursday through a peaceful march to express their support for the actions of the response Ebola virus disease organized by the Ministry of Health.
The coordinator of the Ebola response, Dr. Ndjoloko Tambwe Bathé, found the students at the point of arrival at the Kalinda Stadium to congratulate and encourage them in this initiative. He hopes that this involvement of the students will help overcome the resistance, sometimes maintained by young people from different neighborhoods in some active homes of the city.
Since the beginning of the vaccination, the source recalls, 22,326 people were vaccinated, including 10,945 in Beni, 4,391 in Mabalako, 1,847 in Katwa, 1,663 in Mandima, 1,195 in Butembo, 690 in Masereka, 434 in Bunia, 355 in Tchomia, 240 to Komanda, 185 to Kalunguta, 160 to Musienene, 121 to Oicha, and 100 to Mutwanga.
