The three gendarmes who proceeded to the arrest of Adama Traoré on July 19, 2016 will be heard since this Tuesday for the first time by the judge in charge of investigating the death of the young man.
These hearings are to continue on Wednesday, marking an important stage of the investigation after a final medical expertise for the gendarmes.
The responsibility of the gendarmes aside
Since the beginning of the case, his relatives denounce a police "blunder" and accuse them of not having helped the young man, left handcuffed until the arrival of firefighters.
In their conclusions in mid-September, the experts dismissed the responsibility of civil servants in the death of this young man of 24 years in Val-d'Oise, without convincing his family who continues to evoke a "denial of justice".
The death of Adama Traoré was noted nearly two hours after his arrest in Beaumont-sur-Oise by the gendarmes who had kept on the ground under the weight of their bodies. Adama Traoré had a discomfort in their vehicle before dying in the gendarmerie courtyard of the nearby city of Persan.
