SEXUAL VIOLENCE – Already targeted by a complaint for rape, Luc Besson is now implicated by five other women, who accuse the French filmmaker of inappropriate behavior or even touching and badual harbadment, according to new testimony published by Mediapart this Wednesday, November 28th.
Four women had already testified in July to denounce the behavior of the director with his professional entourage. This Wednesday, Mediapart publishes the testimonies of five other women, including a more detailed version of the story of Emmanuelle (the first name was changed, ed), which had already been expressed in July. As the site emphasizes, the testimonies are all echoed, especially about the places chosen by the director for his meetings, as well as attitudes described.
These accusations come from two former students of the La Cité du Cinéma school, founded by Besson in 2012. One of them, presented under the borrowed name of Laura, evokes facts dating from 2016 and that she calls "badual harbadment". She recalls several incidents during which the director would have kissed him "in a strong way", sometimes "in the neck", during an internship on the filming of the film "Valerian" on which several students of the school were able to to work.
The other student, Pauline, talks about two episodes that would have occurred in 2015. The first took place "on the sidelines of a school event", where Luc Besson "almost rubbed" her while she was having lunch, also making a remark on her physique "something like" it's that it needs to eat huh ?! "". The second episode also took place during an internship on the filming of the film "Valerian". Pauline says that the director has put "a hand to the bad", corroborated remarks by another trainee present at the time of the facts.
None of the two students complained. However, Laura testified in July to the police, encouraged by the first accusations against Luc Besson.
"Blackmail" to "put her in bed"
Mediapart also publishes the testimony of Ananda (the name has been changed, ed), former employee of the production company EuropaCorp Luc Besson. Not to mention rape, Ananda evokes three badual relations obtained by manipulation and accuses the director of having "blackmailed" [la] to put in bed. After an evening together, Ananda wakes up at the hotel "with the impression that something unclear had happened." After this first meeting, the young woman goes to the offices of EuropaCorp, on the advice of Luc Besson. She becomes executive badistant of the director. For the duration of her contract, "she would have undergone permanent touching on the bad and unwanted" kisses. In early October, Luc Besson was heard in a free hearing as part of the investigation opened after Sand Van Roy's rape complaint. The file has been sent to the public prosecutor, who must now decide on the legal consequences of the case. After the testimony of Sand Van Roy, Luc Besson had denounced "fanciful accusations". He has since refused to comment on the case.
