Dangerous pressure cookers. A control action to check the conformity of the pressure resistance of the pressure cookers, commonly known as pressure cookers, is currently being carried out by the Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing (Dreal) des Hauts-de -France, we learned, this Wednesday.
This includes devices sold over the Internet. Some thirty models were collected from the distributors concerned and from the warehouses of online retailers. "If all the tests are not completed, it already appears that some pressure cooker models do not meet the essential requirements of safety," warns the northern prefecture, in a statement.
A sanctioned manufacturer
"To date, five product recalls have been made. In parallel, an administrative fine was taken by the Paris police headquarters against a manufacturer ", specifies the authorities, without specifying which one.
According to the prefecture, four incidents have been identified in France, including three with second-degree burns, since the start of the surveillance operation. "The descriptions of the accident made by the victims are similar: a brutal opening when handling the lid, the projection of the contents in the environment and a projection behind the victim," notes the statement.
