In a statement of today, the Health Insurance welcomes the decision of the State Council rendered yesterday, Thursday, July 12, 2018, on the Screening for Colorectal Cancer

The High Court decided to suspend the execution of the decision of the Paris Administrative Court of Appeal of April 25, 2018 which pronounced the early termination, as of August 1, of the public contract concluded by the National Health Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAMTS) with Cerba, which is currently supplying and reading tests, at the request of two unsuccessful candidates, GLBM and GIE Labco Gestion.

For the Health Insurance, the decision of the Council of State is very good news in terms of public health insofar as screening for colorectal cancer will continue without int eradication and loss of luck for the 16.6 million people affected.
Every month since its establishment, more than 200,000 people have been tested and the program can diagnose a potential risk of colorectal cancer in 4,5% of them, underlines the Health insurance.

This decision will also allow to maintain the dynamic initiated in the last two years. Following the introduction of this new generation of simpler tests of use (1 single sampling) and more precise, the participation rate improved to reach 33.5% at the end of 2017 (up 4.9 points ), she emphasizes.

Health Insurance recalls that colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer with 45,000 estimated cases per year, and the second most deadly cancer.
