In 2018, the streaming service has continued to inflate its content over the weeks. This trend will not reverse in 2019 as Netflix will host, or even produce, fiction from famous licenses. So, after Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's Cowboy Bebop's turn to land.

Indeed, Cowboy Bebop will come back via a remake in the form of a live series. There will be a total of 10 episodes that will feature the Bounty Hunter crew aboard the Bebop ship. This Japanese series has become cult over the years, and the prospect of seeing real actors rather than animated characters can obviously worry. Especially that Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist or Ghost in the Shell, who received the same treatment, were much criticized by the fans.

A team of Hollywood and Japanese screenwriters already on the bridge

The series will be written jointly by Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum, who have been noticed for their work on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. They will not be alone as screenwriters Jeff Pinkner (Fringe) and Scott Rosenberg (Venom) will also participate in the project. A Japanese team of Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki and Shin Sasaki from the Sunrise animation studio will also lend a hand.

For the moment, Netflix has not announced a release period for this live-action remake of Cowboy Bebop.
