French drink less alcohol

This is good news, the average alcohol consumption of the French decreased by one liter in 1 year according to the barometer of the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Some information also deserves to be commented. People who drink alcohol on a daily basis account for only 11% of the population and are mainly people over 60 years of age and male. This reflects a very significant evolution of lifestyles and the relationship with alcohol intake and especially the consumption of wine. While it was socially the rule until the 80s, lifestyles have evolved considerably with parallel greater attention to the consumption of fats, sugars and overall weight. All of this is part of a virtuous circle that demonstrates the effectiveness of health education campaigns in diet and exercise. We can probably do even better, but important results have been achieved which explain the progress achieved in terms of extending life expectancy over the last few years. I find it important to emphasize the existence of these advances and to pursue them without falling into the excesses that sometimes appear now. Drinking and eating, less and better, is a tasty advice that seems to have been heard and bear fruit.
