According to them, the content of the plate is certainly very important, but the ritual is just as important. To reach this conclusion, the scientists relied on data from the Nutrinet Santé study. They badyzed the eating habits of 47,219 people. Information such as "The number of meals taken daily", "Sitting or standing", "Time and duration of meals" or "the number of people at the table" were scrutinized. An adherence score to the French food model was thus established.

Better habits and less nibbling


First good news, most participants followed the French food model, considering the meal as "a moment of pleasure". Those who adhered the most to this model were less likely to be overweight and obese. Among the explanations put forward is that planning meals with the family and eating at the table encourages the learning of good eating habits, allows you to eat more slowly and limits nibbling.
