World champion in Russia this summer, the French team will end 2018 in second place in the FIFA rankings. The Blues, beaten by the Netherlands (2-0, League of Nations) and winners of Uruguay (1-0, friendly) in November, are one point ahead of Belgium in the last edition of the ranking. In the absence of international matches in December (at least for the top teams), it will no longer evolve.
Brazil completes the podium. Croatia is fourth, just ahead of England. Portugal wins a place and climbs to 6th position. Uruguay, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark complete the top 10. The best progression in the top 50 is to the credit of Morocco, now 40th (seven places won).
