When it comes to blacklist Huawei for future 5G equipment in France, the Chinese manufacturer announces the opening of a new R & D center in France, with jobs at the key. Should we see a seduction operation? On the occasion of its Partners & Suppliers conference on November 27th, Huawei has just announced that a research and development center will open its doors in Grenoble (Isère). The general manager of the brand, Weiliang Shi, explains why the Hexagon was chosen: "Present in France for 16 years, Huawei has only one ambition, to offer the best technological bricks to our customers and partners so that they can develop their international competitiveness. For us, this means constant investments in favor of innovation and a daily commitment to the French economic fabric. "

The Chinese manufacturer had announced five years ago an investment plan for 1.5 billion euros in France. Today, the results are there with the opening of the fifth R & D center in France. Huawei is already present in Paris, Sophia Antipolis and Boulogne-Billancourt. But the capital of the Alps was not chosen at random. We can read in the press release: "Grenoble's technology pool benefits from an international influence and Huawei will contribute by working hand-in-hand with this ecosystem. " In addition, the Chinese manufacturer works with its French partner ST Microelectronics which is itself based in Grenoble.

This research and development center will work on sensors and the software part of Huawei. It should employ a total of thirty researchers by 2020. This will bring the number of researchers to some two hundred throughout France. The manufacturer wishes to mark a little more its establishment in France. As a reminder, Huawei arrived in our country sixteen years ago.
