The Swedish furniture group Ikea announced Tuesday the recall of some 45,000 extensible tables sold worldwide and presenting risks of falling of the extension.
"The recall only concerns Glivarp white tables sold after January 1, 2017," Ikea said in a statement.
The announcement follows some fifty consumer warnings alerting the detachment and the fall of the extension. Six people were injured – three of which required "medical care", said Therese Fagerstedt, spokesperson for the group, joined by AFP.
Sold at a price of 249 euros (199 euros for the smallest model) the unit, Glivarp tables have sold 45,563 units worldwide since January 2017, says the group.
Glivarp owners are invited to bring them back to the store for compensation.
