Kia took advantage of the Los Angeles Auto Show to unveil its Soul 2020. As is the case for the current generation of the model, a gasoline version and a second, fully electric, will appear in the catalog. Rendered to its third generation, the Soul evolves, but retains its cubic pace with which he made himself known. It will be badembled on a brand new platform.

Electric
The new Soul EV can count on a 64 kWh lithium-ion battery cooled with liquid. It is expected that the recharge will be faster than for the current generation model. For the moment, autonomy has not been announced either.
Power and torque are 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft, respectively.
Depending on their state of mind, drivers can choose the mode that suits them: Eco, Comfort, Sport and Eco +. They can also choose between four degrees of aggressiveness of the braking energy regeneration system.
The Soul EV differs from the gasoline version in particular by its absence of front grille, by its tailor-made fog lamps and unique 17-inch wheels.
The hatch behind which the plug is recharging is located at the front, on the driver's side, as is the case on the current model.
Gas powered
Under the bonnet of the Soul 2020, a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is emerging. It generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft. It can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a so-called Intelligent Continuously Variable (IVT) box.
For those looking for more power, a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder engine is also available; attached to a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
GT-Line, X-Line and EX Designer Collection are the three variations of Soul proposed by Kia.
