Sega told Eurogamer that the withdrawal of the title was due to the expiry of the rights of related publications.

Developped by Obsidian, which will be released next October The Outer Worlds, Alpha Protocol is no longer available for purchase on Steam since that day.

Released in 2010, the action-RPG was moderately received by critics, but developed ideas allowing the title to be still mentioned. However, it is now impossible to buy on the Valve platform, since it has been removed from the sale "at the request of the publisher", as witnessed his dedicated page. For the time being, SEGA did not give no explanation as for this withdrawal, which pushed us to contact them. We will update the article as soon as we have an answer on this subject.
