Rivian R1S versus Tesla Model X: who wins?
As you will have noticed, only the first two models have a total of seven seats in their cabin. In addition to this observation altogether secondary, it is the performance of the Tesla Model X that interests us. Our one and only comparator is the 100 kWh version, which is close to the R1S 105 kWh – the Model X has also been declined in 75 kWh.
The car imagined by the Elon Musk teams has a much greater autonomy: 565 kilometers. The 100 kWh Performance version, with a range of 541 km / h, reduces the 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.1 seconds.
In theory, the performance of the Tesla Model X – according to the comparison model – is more competitive than that of the R1S. The latter also takes some ideas from his rival, like the 15.6-inch screen placed between the driver and the front pbadenger. A second 12.3-inch screen invites itself instead of the clbadic dashboard.
Prices that fly away
Reloading several electronic devices should be possible through several USB ports, while sensors dedicated to future autonomous features have been installed by the company's teams. You should know that Rivian is behind a second electric vehicle, the R1T pickup, with the same technical data sheet. The first price of the R1S has been fixed at 72 000 dollars (against 69 000 dollars for the R1T): the pre-orders have already been launched, before a commercialization by 2020.
