Salmonella contaminated sheep's milk products recalled

Dairy products "Pur ewes of Lochois" of the company Froidevaux Cornuet are the subject of a withdrawal procedure after the detection of salmonella.

The products concerned are the "Cheese of lamb ew with raw milk, lactic sheep cheese with thyme in raw milk, sheep's milk cheese", Packaged in plastic jars of 200g or 400g, detailed company GAEC Froidevaux Cornuet in a statement sent Saturday evening to AFP.

These products, pbaded between May 20 and July 20 "live on the farm, in the market of Loches (Indre-et-Loire) and with retailers (dairy creamers) or wholesalers who distribute it at the national level", bear the identification number FR 37 183 031 CE, said the company.

The withdrawal measure follows "a self-check on cheeses highlighting the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis" and "human cases of salmonellosis potentially in epidemiological relation ", added Froidevaux Cornuet.

"It is therefore requested that people who hold these products do not consume them and bring them back to the point of sale where they were purchased"

When to consult a doctor ?

The food poisoning caused by salmonella is reflected in gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting) sudden onset often accompanied by fever and headache that usually occur 6 to 72 hours after consumption of contaminated products.

People who have consumed these products and who have these symptoms are encouraged to consult their doctor by pointing out this consumption. In the absence of symptoms within seven days after consuming the products concerned, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor.
