Several badociations that help the poor, including the Red Cross and the Restos du Cœur, were cheated by a company that gave them "fake steaks" made in Poland.

Several badociations have been harmed. According to RTL, 780 tons of "steaks" have been distributed to badociations that help the poor, the Red Cross, the Restos du Cœur, Secours Populaire and the French Federation of Food Banks. They would have paid 5.2 million euros for these meats via a group purchase. According to the radio, these tons of products presented as steaks were not real meat.

If they were not dangerous to health from a health point of view, these "fake steaks" had raw materials of poor quality, not containing meat but fat, skin instead of muscle. All this mixed with soy and starch, products that are not allowed in chopped steaks, says RTL. The manufacturer also reportedly reused processed meat. The flouted badociations gave the alert in March, astonishing the texture, taste and color of the chopped steaks. They immediately stopped distributing the incriminated products and seized the services of the repression of frauds.

According to RTL, the French company has managed to sell 7 million chopped steaks that it has made in Poland. The objective would have been to lower production costs and increase its margin. Fraudsters face up to two years in prison and 1.5 million euros in fines for fraud and organized fraud.
