The 72-year-old American actor announced Wednesday on Instagram that he will no longer take on the role of Rocky Balboa, saying it is time to give way to the younger generation. The new hero of the saga, Adonis Johnson Creed, is played by Michael B. Jordan.
"Today, when I retire and my story has been told, a new world is opening for the public with this generation," says Sylvester Stallone in a message posted Wednesday on Instagram, visibly recorded during the shooting of Creed II, released November 21 in the United States. The American actor definitely leaves his boxing gloves and will no longer play Rocky Balboa.
