With this low price, the company wants to reach an audience that does not always dare to see his doctor.
The Alsatian company Biosynex, located in Illkirch near Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) started early July the marketing of a self-test of HIV at 10 euros in pharmacy, reports France Bleu Alsace Monday, July 9. Self-tests are already on the market but it is two to three times cheaper than its competitors.
With this particularly low price, the company Biosynex wants to reach an audience that does not always dare to go see his doctor. In fact, it is estimated that in France 25,000 people are currently unaware that they carry the AIDS virus, which represents 6,000 new infections in France. "The self-test goes to the patient," said Larry Abensur, the CEO of Biosynex. "So far, the process is that the patient goes to his doctor, and sometimes it's difficult."
Biosynex is the leader in the French rapid diagnostics market. The company employs 138 employees in Alsace. Its leaders hope to sell 100,000 boxes in France in the coming months, 1 million in Europe.
