This morning in Brest, François De Rugy has disappointed the actors of the blue growth gathered in Brest for the Assises of the Economy of the Sea. According to the Minister, there will be only one floating wind site in the Mediterranean, and reduced size.

Didier Codorniou, first vice-president of the Region and president of the Parliament of the Sea, disappointed, considers that the minister of the Ecological Transition has "missed the rendezvous of Brest".

This morning, indeed, François De Rugy, the day after the announcement of the EPP (multiannual energy program) was in Brest at the Assises of the Economy of the Sea, which brings together since yesterday all the actors of the Growth Blue and delivered details of the government's marine energy strategy. In essence, François De Rugy announced that there will be in France only two projects selected to install floating wind turbines at sea (with a respective power of 250 MW): one in southern Brittany and the other in Mediterranean on the horizon 2022.

Hard blow for the economy

A real blow to the industry, for the regions and for the defenders of the RMEs (renewable marine energies).
A blow also for the Gulf of Lion that could be deprived of ambitious projects, generating employment.

Finally, this downward movement of the government could jeopardize the Region's investments for the extension of the port of Port-La Nouvelle.
