The husband and alleged murderer of Razia, 34-year-old Afghan stabbed to death in the street late October in Besancon, will be extradited Friday by the Greek authorities to France, said Wednesday Etienne Manteaux, prosecutor of the Republic in Besancon.

"Rafid Askari, the alleged badbadin of his wife on October 30 in Besançon, will be handed over to the French judicial authorities at Roissy airport on the evening of Friday November 30, less than 30 days after his arrest," said the magistrate. "It will be presented to a judge of freedoms and detention in Bobigny and a magistrate instructor Besançon early next week," added the prosecutor.

"Strong clues" against the husband

Rafid Askari, a 38-year-old Afghan, was arrested by Greek police at Athens airport three days after his wife's death. He had subsequently agreed to be extradited to France, renouncing the challenge of this extradition before the Greek courts. "We have strong clues to prove his guilt, insofar as he has, by messages, already admitted that he was the author of the facts," said the prosecutor the day after his arrest.

Razia was killed by several stab wounds to her torso and neck as she returned from her shopping, resulting in her death. Testimonies and CCTV footage made him the main suspect after the drama that caused a stir.

Several complaints of domestic violence

She was housed for a year in an apartment of an badociation in Besançon that accompanies women victims of domestic violence. She had filed
several complaints against her husband, Marseille and Besançon, for voluntary violence against her husband, aggravated violence and repeated death threats. After filing for divorce, she was granted a protection order by a family court judge in July, barring her husband from approaching her.

She left three children of 9, 12 and 16 years old, the two youngest now being placed in a temporary placement decided by the courts.
