But during the check, the behavior of the driver is strange. His words are incoherent, he seems embarrbaded. The gendarmes then decide to deepen the control. And what they discover is edifying.

Investigators download data from a device in the vehicle. This device allows you to record driving hours, rest hours and speed. They discover several big speeding recorded in recent days: 128, 142 and even 151 km / h.

An ongoing investigation

The driver was simply deactivated the speed limiter installed in each truck. According to the data of the aircraft, the man also did not respect the authorized driving times.

The driver remained in custody for almost 24 hours. It will be convened later by the courts, because an investigation is in progress. She is also interested in the Var company that employs the driver. Visibly, this company was putting pressure on the driver to be more efficient.

It's the second big speeding a heavyweight this fall in the Drôme. At the beginning of October, a 44 tons had been intercepted at 150 km / h, also in Bourg-lès-Valence. The man had put his vehicle in neutral.
