Three days later, she was able to return to her home without complication. "The tremor will not come back," says the doctor at the microphone of Julien Pearce.
Other pathologies concerned
However, this is only about treating the symptoms. "We do not treat the cause of the disease," confirms Michel Lefranc. But "this technique is for all types of tremors" and new operations are already scheduled at the hospital in Amiens. "We have about ten interventions a year that will be realized," he says.
A hope for some 200,000 people suffering from Parkinson's disease. But the technique can also be applied to other pathologies, such as drug-resistant epilepsies or multiple sclerosis, for example.
