Three people were placed in custody, Tuesday, November 27 in Cherbourg, and released Wednesday morning. One of them had a knife. The prefecture denounces.
On the evening of Tuesday, November 27, 2018, the police proceeded to the arrest of six people near the Cherbourg ferry terminal, on one of the locking points of the yellow vests. Among them, a person was in possession of a knife and two others from a plastic bottle containing liquids considered potentially flammable. The Deputy Prosecutor, Gwenaëlle Coto, Explain :
There was a piece of paper at the end of these bottles that suggested that an incendiary action could take place. Three police guards were launched Tuesday night and lifted in the morning. We wanted to hear them on the reasons for their coming to this event with such objects. Yellow vests or not, coming to a rally with a knife is a serious act, which requires an answer from the justice.
Judicial suites will be committed to the person who comes armed with a knife on the demonstration.

The prefecture warns
These blocking actions at the ferry terminal are denounced by the prefecture of the Channel. It says:
The behavior of some demonstrators suggests that some of them tends to radicalize, with the sole purpose of disrupting public order, at the risk of making the message inaudible. These barriers to free movement are not tolerable. The prefect of the Channel calls again on the responsibility of the demonstrators.
The prefecture adds that any action on public roads must be declared, in prefecture or sub-prefecture.
