Deepak Choudhary, a pulmonologist in New Delhi, saysmore cases of asthma " in children under 15 and "obstructive lung diseases chronic " in the over 60s. "There are more cases of diabetes, heart disease, and more cases of neurological disorders, brain disorders"says the specialist, who works at the National Heart Institute.
The pulmonologist calls on politicians in his region to mobilize. "The people who govern this city must wake up, must take preventive measures, such as improving public transport, so that people do not need to use their personal vehicles so important", he says. He also wants the public to take up this public health problem. According to him, "it takes a little more persuasion and awareness by the general public to put pressure on the government, to wake up, and do what it should do".
